THE NEXT STEP IN YOUR AI PRACTICE

From understanding AI
to making it work.

Government needs technical specialists who can turn institutional needs into responsible, useful AI solutions.

AI 402 is the advanced applied course in DAP’s AI 400 Technical Specialist Series. It brings together machine learning, large language models, AI agents, application development, and responsible AI practice through real or simulated Philippine public sector use cases.

You’ll learn by coding, testing, collaborating, and building—with a clear connection to your agency’s work.

WHAT YOU’LL TAKE AWAY

Skills across the AI lifecycle.

Technical capability, grounded in public value and human oversight.

01 / DESIGN

Frame the right solution

Explain core and advanced AI concepts, identify a relevant agency problem, and design a practical AI approach.

02 / DEVELOP

Build and prototype

Create AI models and applications using machine learning, LLMs, agents, and emerging AI technologies.

03 / EVALUATE

Test what matters

Assess performance and reliability while applying responsible AI, governance, privacy, and security principles.

04 / INTEGRATE

Prepare for real use

Identify deployment and integration requirements for government systems, with an implementation roadmap.

THE LEARNING JOURNEY

Learn the foundations.
Build something that matters.

Two connected parts take you from guided technical practice to an agency-focused capstone.

01AI Engineering Foundations for GovernmentAI lifecycle · architecture · responsible AI

Understand AI in the Philippine public sector, responsible AI by design, and the architecture of modern AI solutions—from data and models to applications, agents, and APIs.

Core focus: governance, fairness, explainability, privacy, security, and human oversight.

02Machine Learning for Public Sector ApplicationsData preparation · model development · evaluation

Prepare and clean data, engineer features, and develop supervised and unsupervised models. Evaluate and explain model performance.

Laboratory output: Working Machine Learning Notebook.

03Building Generative AI ApplicationsLLMs · prompts · retrieval-augmented generation

Work with LLMs, structured outputs, and APIs. Build knowledge-grounded applications using embeddings, vector databases, chunking, retrieval, evaluation, and guardrails.

Laboratory output: Prototype LLM/RAG Application.

04Agentic AI and Intelligent WorkflowsTool use · automation · multi-agent systems

Explore agent planning, reasoning, workflow automation, and multi-agent collaboration. Examine orchestration, MCP concepts, and human-in-the-loop government assistants.

Laboratory output: Agentic AI Workflow Prototype.

05Deploying Responsible AI SolutionsDeployment · MLOps · operational readiness

Explore APIs, containers, monitoring, versioning, and MLOps fundamentals. Assess security and governance controls for reliable government AI solutions.

Output: Deployment and Responsible AI Readiness Assessment.

06Developing and Managing AI Projects in GovernmentProblem framing · project planning · implementation oversight

Use gap analysis, design thinking, and workflow mapping to frame an AI project. Plan resources, milestones, and risks, then manage quality, stakeholder coordination, and operational ownership.

Output: AI Project Development and Management Plan.

A FEW PRACTICAL DETAILS

Before you take
the next step.

What does completion require?

Participants must meet attendance, assessment, laboratory, mentoring, and capstone requirements. Successful completers receive a Certificate of Completion from DAP under the National Capability-Building Program on AI.

Will my capstone be individual or team-based?

Sole representatives of an organization develop individual capstones. Participants from the same agency may work together on a shared solution, depending on the composition of the cohort.

What does an Institutional Adviser do?

Your adviser—preferably your supervisor or an appropriate senior agency official—helps validate your use case, provides organizational context, supports your participation, and considers how the project could be adopted after training.

Is there a later batch?

Batch 2 is targeted for Q1 2027. Qualified applicants who cannot be accommodated in the current batch are prioritized for the succeeding batch, subject to continued availability and agency endorsement.

Where can I get the nomination template?

Download the agency nomination template (.docx). Complete it on official agency letterhead and have the appropriate approving authority sign it.
